Dog Boarding

Our boarding service is very special. Your dog will stay in our home and be a part of our family's day-to-day lives. We will only take 2 dogs at a time and they must be compatible. We feel that every dog deserves proper play time and if you're an obedience client, we will reinforce any and all training during your dog's stay with us.

We are not relying on boarding as a source of income. We are dog trainers; that's where our passion is. This is the reason we do not accept large numbers of dogs.

I encourage you to be selective about where you leave your dog. Do your research, try to get referrals or reviews. Many boarding facilities take in high numbers of animals. They often employ under-paid over-worked young people who generally mean well but are not trained to properly handle all situations. As a result your dog may be returned to you with anxiety, stress, wounds, and/or stress diarrhea. I cannot tell you how you many dogs are hit or neglected in these kinds of facilities. We want your trust every bit as much as we need your respect, which is why we do things better. Call us today for a boarding appointment!

Your dog will play, nap and hang out with friends while you're on vacation. Dogs staying at Nitro K-9 get to sleep soundly in a private room at night, and play in the dog lounge all day. They also can be signed up for activities like walks and off-leash outings.

We offer the best board and train system out there. We say this with great pride. We understand that some people do not have the time to go through what it takes to train a dog properly - that's why we're here. If you need help, don't know who to trust, or just can't take anymore, Contact Us.

   Boarding Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When I drop my dog off for boarding overnight, should I bring food
A: Yes. We recommend that you bring your own food when you drop off your dog for boarding. We can provide food (we serve Acana grasslands), but dogs are often stressed during boarding and serving their regular food helps to ensure that they do not suffer any digestive distress.

Q: When I drop my dog off for boarding overnight, should I bring any toys or bedding?
A: Yes. We want your dog to be comfortable at Nitro K-9, so please feel free to bring any of your dog's favorite toys or bedding, which we will keep with your dog in his or her private room. If your dog is not familiar with boarding away from home, we recommend that you bring a T-shirt that you've slept in to help your dog stay relaxed at night.

Q: Do you take dogs for walks during the day?
A: Yes. Every 3rd day, your dog is entitled to a free 30- minute walk. Additional walks can be purchased for $7. We can give your dog up to 2 walks per day. If your dog qualifies for an off-leash park outing, they can go on one during the weekdays. (Must be Nitro Dog Level 1)

Q: Where do the dogs go to the bathroom?
A: Your dog is taken outside every hour and has access to a fully fenced yard.

Q: How do you handle feeding the dogs?
A: We kennel all the dogs at feeding time. We feed breakfast and dinner to the dogs in our care for boarding. Dogs that do not eat are treated to dinner in the kitchen with us. Sometimes they just need some company.

Q: How do you manage conflicts between dogs?
A:ยจ We do not squirt dogs and we do not ever yell. We use a time out and often will use the training your dog has arrived with or the training you have gotten from us here.
